A STOURBRIDGE WOMAN has been arrested after a laser pen was shone at the West Midlands Police helicopter whilst out on enquiries overnight.

The helicopter was flying over Wollaston at 00.44am this morning (16 March) helping with enquiries regarding a person who had been reported missing, when a green light was shone at the aircraft.

BURGLARS have tricked an 89-year-old Dudley woman out of hundreds of pounds.

Multi-million pound funding boost for Brierley Hill

A major regeneration master-plan for Brierley Hill is set to move a step closer when Dudley Council submits a £7.8million bid for funding.

The High Street and northern and southern gateways into the town will all be transformed under an improvement blueprint.

Regional development agency Advantage West Midlands has already given the green light to an outline funding bid from the council. A detailed bid for the final approval will be submitted in January.

England Forever Video Shoot at Stourbridge FC

Stourbridge based singer/songwriter Steve Heathcock has recorded an unofficial England World Cup track called ENGLAND FOREVER ahead of this summer's tournament in South Africa.

Some photographs have already been taken at the War Memorial Athletic Ground home of Stourbridge Football Club that will be featured on the CD sleeve and in publicity shots and Steve is now looking to produce a video to accompany the song.

The video is scheduled to be shot at Stourbridge FC on Thursday, 4th March starting from around 2pm and Steve is appealing for people to come along, preferably dressed in England shirts and colours to act as extras in the video.

Midlands businessmen involved in the building industry were arrested in dawn raids today in connection with a £6 million fraud linked to organised crime gangs.

Two bosses from the Wolverhampton area were among 21 people arrested on suspicion of money laundering and conspiracy to cheat the public purse.

US giant Kraft Foods has proposed buying UK confectionery firm Cadbury in a £10.2bn ($16.7bn) move.

Kraft said that the purchase of the maker of Dairy Milk would protect jobs in the UK - including saving a factory earmarked for closure.

The US firm added it wanted to create "a global powerhouse in snacks, confectionery and quick meals".

Cadbury, whose shares leapt 36% on the news, said the approach "fundamentally undervalues" the company.
